California Alliance of Caregivers Ambassadors is a foster, kinship, guardian, adoptive parent leadership coalition that represents the voice of kinship and foster parents.

California Alliance of Caregivers (CAC) Ambassadors is a statewide coalition of kinship, foster, guardian and adoptive parent leaders that represent the voices of caregivers around the state. CAC Ambassadors share information with caregivers in their community, and gather information and feedback from caregivers to share with decision-makers.
CAC Ambassadors sign a Memorandum of Understanding that they will adhere to and demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  1. Build Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other caregivers and community members to achieve established goals.
  2. Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  3. Communicate and Collaborate Ethically: Display ethical behavior and communication that aligns with the values of California Alliance of Caregivers.

Ambassadors of California Alliance of Caregivers agree to:

  1. Represent the collective county/region voice of relative and non-relative caregivers to promote the well-being of children in foster care.
  2. Actively and consistently participate in scheduled monthly CAC Ambassador phone conferences.
    • CAC Statewide Caregiver Ambassador Call – 2nd Monday of each month from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm.
    • CAC Statewide Ambassador Call with the CA Department of Social Services, – 4th Thursday of each month.
    • Act as a liaison and conduit of communication for your county through emails, updates, and social media (if possible, when available).

Ambassadors of California Alliance of Caregivers have the following benefits:

  1. Input, updates and representation for statewide workgroups, coalitions, and roundtables
  2. Notice and support for preparing legislative letters of support
  3. Advocacy support and training specific to your local county needs
  4. Access to CAC and CAC Affiliate training materials and resources
  5. Collaboration and support for local foster and kinship parent organizations
  6. Monthly newsletter contribution
  7. Annual Caregiver Day at the Capitol, Annual Statewide Caregiver Policy Conference, and Annual Ambassador Appreciation Dinner
  8. Stipend for CAC Ambassador meeting attendance *unless your attendance is part of a paid position with another organization or agency.
