Upcoming Stakeholder Engagement Opportunities
The Strengths Building Program On Thursday, November 14th from 1-2pm CDSS will host a listening session on the Strengths Building Program for stakeholders to provide input to inform the Request for Information (RFI) for the Financial Management Coordinator (FMC).
How to Join: The Strengths Building Program Listening Session #1 (11/14/24) On Tuesday, December 10th from 10-11am CDSS will host a follow-up session summarizing the key takeaways from November 14th’s listening session. Ahead of formally drafting the RFI, this session will allow CDSS to confirm that the key themes from the November listening session were captured. Care and Supervision
In January of 2025 CDSS will coordinate a workgroup to discuss the specific conditions under which families receiving AAP or KinGAP may be paid an amount that exceeds tier 1 but shall not exceed tier 2 care and supervision.

NEW RESOURCE AVAILABLE! We are excited to share a new resource available for foster, kinship, guardian, and adoptive parents: The Resource Parent Guide. California Alliance of Caregivers has worked with the California Department of Social Services since 2018 to create and publish a statewide Resource Family Handbook. This will be published soon, until then, the Resource Parent Guide highlights important information for caregivers.

Our advocacy partner, Children Now, is holding a virtual focus group for caregivers on November 22. They will provide a $50 incentive in recognition of careiver time and expertise. Please contact dwondra@childrennow.org if you are interested in participating. |

"Flexible Family Support" is available to youth and families for respite, extra-curricular activities, visitation with family, and more! You can ask your social worker how your county has chosen to support youth and families with this funding, and how you can access the support for your child in foster care.
